Manipur State Transport (MST) was revived on 25th June 2017 after the liquidation of MSRTC in 2003 under the initiative of the Government to provide a safe, reliable, affordable, efficient and sustainable mode of public transport system in the State.
MST started its bus operation on 25th June 2017. Initially, it began with 6(six) routes from Imphal to Moreh, Noney, Moirang, Yairipok, Kakching & Chandel. Now, MST has successfully launched its bus service on 31(thirty one) routes as on December 2024.
MST strives to provide an affordable and steady bus service connecting remotes Hilly areas with Imphal, the State capital.
At present, MST have a total fleet of 34(thirty-four) buses covering every corner of the State. MST has recently launched Inter State Bus Service from Imphal to Dimapur, Nagaland.
MST received an award for Excellence in Urban Mobility 2018, in the category “Best City in Urban Transport Initiatives”from Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India
Facilities of MST-
1.MST buses can be hired for private purposes like wedding, school excursion, picnic etc. as per MST hiring terms and conditions.
2.MST provides Transit Advertisement on and inside MST buses(per MST transit advertisement rules)
3. Booking Counters for general public at Moreh, Tamenglong, Nungba, Noney, Jiribam, Tamei, Jessami and Thangal.
4.100% concession to persons suffering from disability (disability certificate of >40% disability) and 50% concession to one companion , 50% concession to people living with HIV or AIDS (PLHIV)
